About the role#
ADAPT Community Network offers volunteer and internship opportunities for students and individuals interested in health, human services, and related fields. These roles provide hands-on experience and the chance to contribute to adult recreation programs, day programs, residential group homes, and administrative offices. These positions are unpaid.
What you'll do#
- Support adult programs by engaging in activities such as cooking classes, reading, playing music, or arts and crafts.
- Assist individuals with skill building, including communication, socialization, and participating in community outings like sporting events, festivals, or trips.
- Provide administrative support to staff, including filing, data entry, cleaning, and office organization.
- Work across various settings, including evening and weekend shifts for residential and recreation programs, or standard office hours for administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 or older, or 16 with valid working papers.
- Completion of a physical examination, including a recent Tuberculosis (PPD) test, for those in direct contact with individuals.
- Successful completion of a fingerprinting process, reference verification, and background checks through the State Central Registry and the Justice Center.
- Preferred majors include Public Health, Nursing, and Psychology.
