About the role#
ADAPT Community Network offers volunteer and internship opportunities for students and community members. You will support our adult recreation programs, day programs, residential group homes, or administrative offices. These roles are unpaid and available on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Support adult recreation programs during evenings and weekends or assist in our administrative offices during business hours.
- Help individuals build communication and socialization skills through conversation, games, and activities.
- Lead activities such as cooking classes, reading, or musical performances.
- Assist staff with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, cleaning, and organizing.
- Participate in community outings like zoo visits, bowling, or local festivals.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old, or 16 years old with valid working papers.
- Candidates in direct contact with individuals must provide a completed physical exam including a recent Tuberculosis test (PPD).
- All participants must complete a fingerprinting process, background check, and reference verification.
- We welcome students pursuing majors in Public Health, Nursing, or Psychology.
