The ACLU is seeking an Undergraduate Intern to support the Communications and Marketing department. This role focuses on both e-commerce operations and social media strategy, helping to maintain and expand the organization's narrative and digital presence. This position is open to current undergraduate students based in the U.S. and must be tied to a formal education program via coursework or academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Manage online store operations, including product photography, page setup, and copywriting.
- Analyze budget, inventory, and sales data using Microsoft Excel.
- Research industry trends to brainstorm new merchandise strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Support social media efforts by scripting, producing content, and appearing on-camera for platforms like TikTok.
- Assist with social media metrics reporting and data analysis.
What you'll need#
- Previous e-commerce experience for a major brand or retailer.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience using social media for professional, academic, or extracurricular purposes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Pursuing a degree in fields such as Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science.
Location & details#
- Location: New York City, New York (Remote or Hybrid options available).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Duration: Full-time (10 weeks) or part-time (12 weeks).
- Compensation: Paid at $20/hr.
- Requirements: Candidates must be based in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
