About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at Sunbelt Controls, you will work within the Engineering Group to support our design team. You will learn how to use engineering design tools, understand control applications theory, and participate in our engineering development program. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Renton, Washington.
What you'll do#
- Assist design engineers with specific project tasks and general engineering functions.
- Perform basic program and graphics modifications alongside hardware application designs.
- Communicate with project team members to resolve obstacles and share information from the field.
- Participate in project closeout activities, including as-built control diagrams and maintenance manuals.
- Complete OSHA 10 safety training.
- Receive training and development in the use of engineering design tools.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or 2-5 years of related work experience in the building automation industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical school training.
- Working knowledge of Windows, file structures, and MS Office, with a preference for MS Visio experience.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet project schedules.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.

- Compensation: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience and skills.
