About the role#
The Fall Midwest Intern will support the Young Invincibles team in Chicago during the Fall 2026 term. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to advocacy campaigns, assist with programmatic logistics, and gain experience in nonprofit policy work. The intern will work closely with the Midwest Regional Director and the office staff to support initiatives such as the State of Young Illinois campaign, the Right to Learn campaign, and the Student Basic Needs Task Force.
What you'll do#
- Complete a long-term Capstone project assigned by the Director, which involves coordinating a mid- to large-scale activity.
- Conduct outreach to individuals and organizations to support engagement and program recruitment.
- Assist the Advocacy Manager with ongoing advocacy campaigns and actions.
- Attend and volunteer at both virtual and in-person programs and events.
- Participate in regular team meetings with the Midwest Office staff.

- Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office on Wednesdays.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. The organization can work with colleges and universities to meet requirements for academic credit.
