Content Safety & Policy Intern

About the role#

As a Content Safety & Policy Intern, you will protect brand integrity and ensure a high-quality experience for a global audience. This role sits at the intersection of media, policy, and technology, requiring deep research into cultural trends and regulatory shifts. Please note that this position involves frequent exposure to sensitive, graphic, or potentially disturbing content; emotional intelligence and resilience are required.

What you'll do#

• Review original production content to identify potential brand safety concerns.
• Conduct thematic research to ensure stories align with global safety standards.
• Partner with Content, Localization, and Editorial Programming teams to perform quality control and safety checks on episodes prior to publication.
• Track and analyze evolving global trends in censorship, copyright, media law, and internet governance.
• Support the policy team by drafting high-impact memos, policy briefs, fact sheets, and weekly trend updates.
• Monitor global socio-political events to provide localized analysis on how they impact content policy.

What you'll need#

• Recent graduate or current Senior pursuing a degree in Media Studies, Journalism, Sociology, Community Studies, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex policy issues into actionable insights.
• Strong pulse on pop culture and societal trends within the United States, Latin America, and South Korea.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and SharePoint, with the ability to adapt quickly to new internal CMS tools.
• Bilingual proficiency in Korean or Japanese is highly preferred.
• Deep interest in diversity and inclusion, content compliance, and the legalities of the digital landscape.

Location & details#

• Location: Remote (based in Los Angeles, California).
• Commitment: Part-time, temporary internship.
• Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
