Social Media & Events Marketing Intern (USTA NorCal)

About the role#

USTA NorCal is seeking a Social Media & Events Marketing Intern to support social media growth, event promotion, content capture, and community outreach. This role provides hands-on experience in sports marketing and community engagement for a student or recent graduate. The position is a hybrid, full-time internship scheduled for Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Support USTA NorCal events, community activations, and promotional programs.
• Capture photos and videos at events for use on social media, newsletters, and websites.
• Assist with planning social media content, writing captions, and scheduling posts.
• Track social media performance metrics including reach, impressions, likes, and follower growth.
• Coordinate with event organizers regarding potential partnerships, tabling, and community activations.
• Organize event outreach details, including contact lists, status updates, and follow-up notes.
• Prepare event materials such as signage, giveaways, and checklists.
• Assist with post-event recaps by organizing media and summarizing highlights.

What you'll need#

• Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Health, Media Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Genuine interest in sports, tennis, social media, and nonprofit marketing.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms.
• Comfort capturing photo and video content.
• Reliable transportation to support off-site events.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
