USTA NorCal is seeking a Design, Website & Creative Intern to support graphics, apparel design, merchandise branding, and print and digital creative projects. This role is designed for a student or early-career creative interested in sports culture, visual storytelling, and community-centered branding. You will gain hands-on experience developing materials for programs, events, merchandise, and outreach campaigns.
What you'll do#
- Assist in creating apparel and merchandise graphics for various production needs, including screen print and embroidery.
- Design flyers, posters, signage, handouts, and other promotional materials.
- Create graphics for merchandise releases, campaigns, community events, and special projects.
- Develop website visuals, digital banners, and other online assets.
- Help organize a merchandise release calendar aligned with USTA NorCal events and cultural moments.
- Maintain creative files, design drafts, and production assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support creative projects and ensure deliverables meet project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current student, recent graduate, or emerging creative with a background in graphic design, marketing, communications, art, or media studies.
- Interest in sports, tennis, apparel, branding, and creative storytelling.
- Experience creating graphics for social media, digital platforms, or print materials.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn design tools such as Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign.
- Ability to balance multiple creative projects, follow brand guidelines, and meet deadlines.
- Must complete the Safe Play certification course before the start date.
- Access to reliable transportation.
Location & details#
- Location: Alameda, California.
- Term: Summer 2026 (July 27 – November 9, 2026).
- Modality: Hybrid, with a combination of remote work, in-person office work, and off-site event support.
- Schedule: Full-time, generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend availability for special events.
- Compensation: Paid at $20 per hour, plus internet and phone stipend.
