About the role#
The Social Media Intern (Spanish) will support the management of UNDP’s Spanish-language social media channels and digital editorial content. Reporting to the Spanish Editor, the intern plays a key role in expanding the reach and impact of UNDP’s communications by drafting content, developing creative concepts, and supporting global campaigns. This position requires an individual capable of working effectively within a multi-cultural environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
What you'll do#
- Draft, adapt, schedule, and publish content for Spanish-language social media channels, ensuring accuracy and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Manage the Spanish-language social media editorial calendar to reflect organizational priorities and global campaigns.
- Research and identify content suitable for adaptation across Spanish-language platforms.
- Create visual content, including graphics and short-form videos, following established visual identity standards.
- Support the implementation of global campaigns and strategic events, including providing live coverage when necessary.
- Translate, review, and proofread social media copy between English and Spanish to ensure clarity and engagement.
- Monitor social media performance, prepare analytics reports, and identify trends to inform future editorial decisions.
- Manage audience engagement by responding to comments and messages, escalating issues as required.
What you'll need#
- Native Spanish proficiency and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proven ability to manage social media platforms and create digital content.
- Solid Spanish writing and editing skills.
- An interest in global issues and the work of the United Nations.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with an awareness of political sensitivities.
- Enrollment in a graduate program, the final year of a bachelor’s degree, or recent graduation (within one year of the start date).
- Availability to work at least four days per week.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, or English.
