The Justice and Protection Cluster within the Peace, Security and Resilience Section works to prevent and address sexual and gender-based violence, including conflict-related sexual violence. This internship provides an opportunity to support UN Women’s policy engagement, knowledge development, and global programming related to transitional justice and the rule of law.
What you'll do#
- Support ongoing research projects focused on justice and protection.
- Assist in the preparation of inputs for annual reports of the Secretary-General regarding women, peace, security, and rule of law activities.
- Participate in meetings with country offices and programme partners.
- Support the implementation of global programming, including the preparation of narrative reports for donors and partners.
- Assist in UN Women’s participation in interagency fora, such as the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on Transitional Justice and the UN Global Focal Point on Rule of Law, by preparing documentation and providing feedback.
What you'll need#
- University studies in law, international affairs, gender studies, or other relevant subjects.
- Enrollment in a graduate school programme, the final year of a Bachelor's degree, or a postgraduate professional traineeship program. Recent graduates who have earned their degree within the last two years are also eligible.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
