About the role#
The Externship Advisor supports student and alumni career success by connecting them with employment opportunities and equipping them with essential job-readiness skills. This role builds and maintains employer relationships, provides guidance on professional presentation, and secures externship and clinical placement sites to facilitate practical training. This is a full-time, entry-level position focused on strengthening career outcomes and supporting successful transitions from education to the workforce.
What you'll do#
- Assist students and graduates in securing employment aligned with their field of study by identifying opportunities and coordinating interviews.
- Provide individualized guidance on interview techniques, workplace expectations, and professional readiness.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers and hiring managers to generate job leads and expand hiring pipelines.
- Engage with externship and practicum sites to facilitate required documentation and ensure a smooth student experience.
- Develop and execute plans to achieve placement goals while meeting performance metrics and maintaining compliance with institutional and federal standards.
What you'll need#
- Experience in education, career services, employment staffing, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate fluently in professional verbal and written English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of various application processes and expectations.
- Experience in overcoming graduate or customer obstacles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Location & details#
- This is a remote position requiring a quiet home office setup and a high-speed internet connection.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST or MST depending on the region, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- This role is open to candidates with backgrounds in Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, Sociology, Political Science, Marketing, or Economics.
