About the role#
The Student Financial Services Manager leads the financial services team to help students and families navigate tuition planning and funding options. This role balances student advocacy, compliance, and team leadership to support student retention and success.
What you'll do#
- Administer and supervise the implementation of all institutional Student Financial Services policies, procedures, and funding programs.
- Ensure adequate documentation and accountability for all disbursed funds to maintain strict compliance with regulations.
- Advise students and families regarding tuition planning.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the operational functions of the Student Financial Services Office, including staff training.
- Oversee Campus VA School Certifying Officials and VA Education benefit activities.
- Serve as a liaison between departments and participate in institutional committees.
- Manage team personnel functions, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and resolving work-related problems.
- Conduct monthly mandatory Exit Counseling seminars and attend semi-annual graduation events.
- Ensure student aid recipients maintain eligibility and that appropriate records are kept for Federal Student Aid.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Student Financial Services.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, institutional, and VA aid programs.
- Supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and a student-first mindset.
- Ability to balance compliance, compassion, and operational excellence.
