Legal Intern

About the role#

The Legal Intern will work within the corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, to gain practical experience in real estate and construction law. This paid internship offers exposure to day-to-day legal operations, including corporate governance and compliance, while working alongside experienced attorneys and industry professionals.

What you'll do#

• Support the in-house legal team with contract reviews, compliance initiatives, and corporate governance matters.
• Assist attorneys with legal research concerning property management, construction contracts, real estate financing, and title issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Finance, Human Resources, Property Management, and Operations.
• Participate in department meetings and projects to develop a deeper understanding of legal processes and industry best practices.
• Engage in professional development programming and mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network.
• Enhance your legal drafting, analytical, and research skills in a collaborative environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as an undergraduate student entering your senior year or as a 1L or 2L law student, with an anticipated graduation date by June 2027.
• Pursuing a degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program.
• Strong interest in real estate and construction law.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
