The Counseling Intern will provide psychotherapy services within the Health and Wellness department. This role involves shadowing mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and managing a client caseload. Interns will participate in regular supervision sessions and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support clients in Northeast Ohio.
What you'll do#
- Shadow mental health assessments and complete MHAs based on diagnostic criteria once prepared.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Maintain a client caseload to provide psychotherapy services.
- Attend and participate in at least one hour of supervision for every 10 hours of client care.
- Attend multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Complete agency documentation in accordance with ODMH and best practice standards.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, art therapy, or a related field.
- Active enrollment in a master’s degree program in social work, counseling, art therapy, or marriage and family therapy.
- Completed coursework in diagnosis, theories, and group process.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CT or SWT status.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
