SWD Inc. is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Addison, Illinois. The role offers flexible scheduling between 30-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, to accommodate academic commitments.
What you'll do#
- Support 5S initiatives and data collection efforts.
- Assist in process mapping and value stream analysis.
- Help identify and implement Lean tools and techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and maintenance.
- Conduct research and analysis to support project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and understanding of PC operating systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with automation, analytics, or AI is considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Addison, IL (on-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (August–December).
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Must reside in Illinois and be able to commute to the facility. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
