SWD Inc. is seeking a CAD Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This paid, part-time position offers 16-24 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. This is an on-site role based in Addison, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D models and drawings using CAD software.
- Update existing drawings and models based on design changes and project specifications.
- Enter and organize project data, drawings, and files.
- Identify potential issues within drawings and models and communicate findings to supervisors.
- Gain practical experience in drafting techniques and project workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Graphic Design.
- Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or Revit.
- Ability to interpret technical plans, diagrams, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
- Ability to commute to the facility in Addison, IL.

- Location: Addison, IL (On-site).
- Term: Fall 2026 (August–December).
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, paid internship.
