This Operations Student position offers hands-on experience in a plant environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to develop technical skills and troubleshooting abilities while contributing to the safety and efficiency of operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine checks and testing to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Prepare and complete daily area logs and communicate significant changes and findings.
- Assist with equipment preparation for maintenance and returning equipment to service.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in your assigned unit.
- Help ensure the safety of personnel and adherence to safety policies within your area.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program for 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineering, or recent graduation requiring steam time.
- An Alberta Steam Ticket (ABSA) is required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort McMurray (Firebag), Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2026 (6-month duration depending on steam time requirements).
- Schedule: On-site, fly-in fly-out, rotating 12-hour shifts with an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation.
- Employment type: Full-time, paid.
