Suncor is seeking a Community Relations Student for an 8–12 month term starting in September 2026. This role focuses on supporting the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation and contributing to community engagement, communications, and event planning initiatives. You will work directly with internal teams and external community partners to advance charitable programs and stakeholder relationships.
What you'll do#
- Support the administration of the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation.
- Collaborate with internal and external supporters, communications, and stakeholder engagement teams on community initiatives and events.
- Build and maintain relationships with charities, non-profit organizations, and community partners.
- Assist with the planning and coordination of events, meetings, and volunteer activities.
- Prepare presentations, communications materials, and program updates.
- Conduct research and provide general project support to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Political Science, Sociology, Human Resources, or Psychology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Organized, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.
- Experience with social media, event management, or volunteering with non-profit organizations is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta (On-site at the Suncor Energy Centre).
- Term: Fall 2026 start (8–12 month duration).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
