Stoke Space is offering software internship opportunities for the Spring 2027 term. Interns work on real, open-ended problems that directly contribute to the company's mission. You will work closely with mentors and team members to apply your knowledge through high-impact projects. This role requires the ability to stay focused, move fast, and learn on the fly while contributing to the full software lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams across Boltline, Vehicle Software, and Data.
- Contribute to the full software lifecycle in an iterative development environment.
- Own specific software components, taking them from design through to test stand execution.
- Convert real-time and post-launch data into actionable insights to improve launch product design and operations.
- Work on web-based SaaS for hardware manufacturing, control software stacks for test stands and flight systems, or data analysis pipelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar STEM field.
- Project-level experience with Python, C, or Rust.
- Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on engineering experience through internships, personal projects, work, or teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a complex technical project through to execution.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for Boltline-focused roles; experience with real-time systems or embedded devices for Vehicle Software roles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Kent, Washington.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site for 10-12 consecutive weeks.
- Compensation: $28.00/hour (Freshman/Sophomore), $33.00/hour (Junior/Senior), $35.00/hour (Completed Bachelor's), or $40.00/hour (Completed Master's).
- Benefits: 32 hours of paid time off, on-site gym, and complimentary snacks.
- Export Control: This position requires access to technology restricted under U.S. export control laws. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
