The Assistant Director of Graduate Student Career Development supports the university's centralized Career Center by providing specialized coaching to graduate, international, and part-time students. This role involves active engagement with students to enhance their career readiness and collaborating with internal teams to build employer relationships and track employment outcomes.
What you'll do#
- Provide one-on-one career coaching, including resume and CV reviews and targeted job search guidance.
- Design and facilitate workshop presentations on career development topics such as interviewing, networking, and business communication.
- Collaborate with the employer relations team to facilitate internship and full-time employment opportunities for students.
- Plan and lead career-related activities, including drop-in hours and virtual development events.
- Conduct outreach to students and recent alumni to gather data on career outcomes.
- Support employer recruiting events and represent the Career Center at on-campus and off-campus functions.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of work experience in career advising, human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Zoom, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience using Handshake or similar university career center platforms.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and navigate the campus.

- Location: Hoboken, New Jersey (Main Campus).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Salary Range: $61,700.00 – $84,300.00 per year.
- Note: This position occasionally requires work during evenings and weekends to support university events.
