About the role#
Accounting Interns at Spot Freight assist the accounting team with accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. This role involves supporting the management team on special projects and collaborating with the department to meet performance goals.
What you'll do#
- Learn and execute business processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Plan and organize daily activities independently.
- Follow billing processes, identify discrepancies, and solve problems.
- Audit Bill of Lading information against invoices and receipts to verify accuracy.
- Prepare and send statements of account for customers with past due balances.
- Communicate with customer accounting contacts to resolve invoicing and payment issues.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and analytical mindset.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks.
