Spire is seeking a Pipeline Safety Compliance Intern to join our operations. This paid internship provides students with the opportunity to gain industry experience, learn from mentors, and contribute to projects related to natural gas pipeline safety and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do#
- Acquire knowledge of state and federal requirements affecting natural gas companies.
- Support data analysis and reporting for regulatory audits, pipeline system maintenance, and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in field audits of pipeline construction and other field operations.
- Review the impact of proposed pipeline safety regulations on company operations.
- Develop recommendations for process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student, entering Junior, Senior, or master’s level status in Fall 2024.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Location: Birmingham, Alabama.
- Term: Fall 2025.
- Modality: On-site.
- This role involves both office and field environments, including potential exposure to uneven terrain, inclement weather, and large equipment. Some travel may be required.
