Transportation Intern

About the role#

SSR is seeking a Transportation Intern to support field and office teams during the summer of 2026. This role provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in construction administration, quality control, and infrastructure delivery. Interns will work under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager and receive mentorship from licensed engineers and certified construction inspectors.

What you'll do#

• Gain real-world experience on transportation construction projects.
• Apply standard construction and inspection techniques and procedures.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager.
• Observe how engineering design is implemented in the field.
• Perform other duties as needed.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Completion of at least sophomore year by the internship start date.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is preferred.
