Student Radiology Tech Extern

About the role#

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Student Radiology Tech Extern to join the team in Woodbridge, Virginia. This is a paid, full-time, rotating shift position for students pursuing education in fields such as Nursing, Health Administration, Biomedical Sciences, or Public Health.

What you'll do#

Under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist and the direction of a qualified physician, you will perform radiological imaging studies, including chest, abdominal, extremity, and spine exams. Responsibilities include:

• Operating imaging equipment and developing films.
• Preparing patient rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Providing clinical support, including documentation, lab work, and assistance with IV lines.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an ARRT-accredited formal education program with at least two semesters completed.
• Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain IV Therapy Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Note: Non-student technologist roles require two years of patient care management experience.
