About the role#
The Seabird Island Band is seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative support within the Education Department. This full-time summer position focuses on assisting the Employment Division with daily operations, record-keeping, and community service delivery. The role ends on September 30, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with administrative tasks, including maintaining electronic and paper filing systems.
- Support report preparation by entering data and proofreading documents for accuracy.
- Provide reception coverage, including answering phones and greeting guests.
- Manage the sorting and distribution of mail, courier deliveries, and files.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and internal communications.
- Maintain office supply inventory and help ensure a clean, professional workspace.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with writing and editing.
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality policies and organizational procedures.
- Knowledge of Stó꞉lō culture, traditions, and language is considered an asset.
- Experience working with First Nations communities is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check is required for this position.
