About the role#
The Land to Table Farm Student supports day-to-day operations at the Tém:éxw li te Letam Farm during the peak growing season. This role provides culturally informed support for crop production and general farm maintenance under the direction of the Acting Holistic Nutrition Wellness Lead. This is a part-time, on-site term position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist with seeding, transplanting, and preparing planting beds.
- Perform weeding, watering, mulching, pruning, trellising, and pest monitoring.
- Harvest vegetables, fruits, and herbs, and assist with washing, sorting, and packing produce.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust irrigation systems, including hand-watering crops.
- Safely operate basic farm tools and assist with the maintenance of farm structures, fencing, and pathways.
- Help with composting, soil amendments, and general field preparation.
What you'll need#
- An interest in agriculture, sustainability, food systems, or outdoor work.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting 20-40 lbs, bending, kneeling, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
- No prior farm experience is required as training will be provided.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check is required for employment.
Location & details#
- Location: Agassiz, British Columbia.
- Term: Summer 2026 (ending August 28th, with the possibility of extension).
- Schedule: Part-time, 21 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18.25 per hour.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Sponsorship is not available.
