About the role#

Schneck Medical Center is seeking an IT student to join the Information Technology team for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience with healthcare technology, infrastructure, and end-user support. You will work alongside IT professionals to maintain reliable and secure services across the hospital in both clinical and business environments.

What you'll do#

• Provide frontline technical support for hospital staff, including hardware, software, and access issues.
• Assist with the setup, imaging, and deployment of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Manage user accounts, including password resets, access provisioning, and setting basic permissions.
• Participate in IT projects and system upgrades, such as EMR support and application rollouts.
• Help maintain IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Track and resolve helpdesk tickets within the ITSM system.
• Support network and infrastructure tasks under supervision.
• Observe cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a high school, GED/HSE program, or a college program with the intention to pursue a degree in an IT field.
• Preferred majors include Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Informatics, or Management Information Systems.
• An understanding of IT operations in a clinical environment.
