The Hydrogen Isotope Science Group at the Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an undergraduate intern to join the American Science Cloud Genesis Program. This role supports the development and maturation of Inertial Fusion Energy technologies through research at the intersection of national security, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maturation of Inertial Fusion Energy technologies.
- Leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced computational tools to solve complex technical problems.
- Develop partnerships with internal team members and understand how the role interacts with the broader team.
- Complete routine tasks while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively in straightforward situations.
What you'll need#
- U.S. citizenship.
- Completion of at least three years of college coursework in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- Fundamental knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science principles.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
