About the role#
RubinBrown LLP offers a Winter 2028 internship designed to introduce students to public accounting. Interns work approximately 40 hours per week from January through mid-April, though alternative schedules may be considered. Participants are assigned a Career Advocate to help establish personalized professional goals and receive training on the firm's accounting and tax networks.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members, managers, and partners to complete tax tasks for a variety of clients.
- Prepare tax basis trial balances, work papers, and documentation to support the preparation of client tax returns.
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries for assigned tax engagements.
- Prepare various federal and state tax returns.
- Identify and communicate engagement issues to managers or partners.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks while interacting with clients and firm members to gather necessary information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting.
- A minimum GPA of 3.20/4.00 or higher.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform work accurately.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to organize work, communicate status updates, and incorporate feedback from supervisors.
