About the role#
The Climate Resilient Stewardship Fellow will join the Colorado Chapter of The Nature Conservancy as part of a two-year, full-time program starting in September 2026. This role focuses on applied conservation, climate adaptation, and the management of protected lands. The fellow will work closely with stewardship staff and partners to support collaborative conservation planning, combining office-based work with time in the field to monitor conditions and support stewardship projects. Participants will also engage in networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and updating of land management plans for preserves in Colorado with a focus on climate resilience.
- Gather and synthesize existing information, including scientific literature and internal resources, to inform management decisions.
- Assist with drafting new plans, revising existing plans, and preparing related materials by writing sections and organizing reference information.
- Research and contribute to vulnerability assessments of key conservation values.
- Support the coordination and review of draft plans to meet project timelines.
- Assist with short-term stewardship projects involving interns or volunteers.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects.
- Experience handling standard business communications.
- Ability to travel locally.
