Flight Software Engineering Intern (Fall 2026 Internship)

About the role#

Reliable Robotics Corporation is seeking a Flight Software Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This full-time, paid internship offers students the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers to design, develop, and test production systems for automated aviation technology.

What you'll do#

• Take ownership of software projects from design through implementation and test.
• Implement flight software for sensors, control systems, actuators, telemetry, fault handling, and other vehicle subsystems.
• Develop and enhance the software simulation framework to accelerate testing of safety-critical systems.
• Work with peers to establish software requirements.
• Participate in peer reviews of system requirements, architecture, and software.
• Plan and execute end-to-end system tests in simulation, on flight hardware in the lab, and in the air.

What you'll need#

• An in-progress college degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar field.
• Experience with C/C++.
• An understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and networking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
