About the role#
This internship supports the IT services team for Jefferson County Government in Hillsboro, Missouri. You will work with a five-person team to deliver IT services, including core network, server, workstation, SaaS, and multimedia technologies for 35 government and associated agencies. This role focuses on maintaining system reliability and supporting team members in daily IT operations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, configure, and install switches and security appliances.
- Configure and install Windows 11 Pro workstations for county staff.
- Troubleshoot and install software applications.
- Assist with the troubleshooting and repair of Dell desktop and laptop computers.
- Manage IT inventory, including network routers, switches, and servers.
- Install, move, and remove printers and desktop scanners.
- Recover old computers and decommission equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Foundational knowledge of PC hardware and software.
- Understanding of computer networking.
- Experience with networked and stand-alone printer installation.
