Student Nurse Intern Summer Start - AM

About the role#

Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is seeking a Student Nurse Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship designed for nursing students to gain clinical experience with neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients. Interns work under the direction of a Supervising Staff Nurse to provide safe, high-quality care while adhering to hospital policies and infection control protocols.

What you'll do#

• Perform nursing care and treatments including vital signs, patient assessments, ADLs, phlebotomy, POC testing, dressing changes, and tracheostomy care.
• Document patient information clearly and accurately in the medical record.
• Communicate ongoing reports to the supervising nurse and team members.
• Plan and organize daily workloads to prioritize patient care needs.
• Support patients and caregivers through physical, emotional, and psychological assistance.
• Participate in department initiatives, unit meetings, and educational opportunities.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of a fundamentals of nursing course.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to perform physical tasks including stooping, reaching, and lifting loads up to 35 lbs.

Location & details#

• Location: Maryland Heights, Missouri.
• Schedule: Interns must be available for 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with a requirement to work two shifts within a 6-week period.
• Mandatory Training: Attendance is required for orientation on June 16, 17, 18, 19, and 23, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
