About the role#
The Project Engineer Internship is part of the Project Engineer Career Development (PECD) program, which focuses on in-field learning and professional growth. This paid, full-time summer internship offers hands-on mentorship and exposure to various areas of construction project management.
What you'll do#
Interns assist the team with a variety of technical and operational tasks, including:
- Assisting in scheduling and tracking production rates.
- Supporting estimating, budget preparation, and project cost control.
- Managing safety protocols and quality control measures.
- Participating in business development, client relations, and field resource management.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional documentation and organizational abilities.
- A strong aptitude for problem-solving.
- Reliable transportation to travel between the office and various job sites.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Location: Based in the Chicago area. This is an on-site position where you will spend approximately 50% of your time at project sites across the greater Chicago area.
- Compensation: The pay rate for this role is $20 to $27 an hour, based on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include cell-phone reimbursement and 401(k) eligibility.
