This is a temporary, paid summer externship for students pursuing a career as a Cath Lab Tech. You will work on-site at Providence Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, gaining hands-on clinical experience while working under the supervision of experienced staff.
What you'll do#
- Assist with direct patient care under the general supervision of a Cath Lab RN or Cath Lab Tech.
- Perform clinical tasks consistent with the level of training successfully completed in your college coursework.
- Begin the role functioning as a Patient Care Tech, transitioning to higher skill levels once cleared by management.
- Follow established hospital protocols for all patient interactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the final year of a recognized Cath Lab Tech certification program.
- Good academic standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Hospital experience is preferred.
- Relevant academic background in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration, or Public Health.
