Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

Providence Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support drug distribution systems and gain hands-on experience in a hospital pharmacy setting. This position offers flexible scheduling with day, evening, or weekend shifts available on a per diem (PRN) basis.

What you'll do#

Working under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will assist with the following:

• Support drug distribution systems, including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations.
• Perform dosage preparation and prepare sterile admixtures using aseptic techniques.
• Manage inventory tasks such as floor stock delivery, pre-packaging, billing, receiving, stocking, and controlled substances distribution.
• Participate in performance improvement and data collection activities.
• Provide pharmaceutical care across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
• Inspect medication storage areas and maintain department cleanliness.
• Verify, fill, and package prescriptions, process payments, and interact with customers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Pharmacy Student.
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Certificate of Pharmacy Intern.
• Ability to assist in the support of drug distribution systems.
