This internship provides exposure to the management of electric transmission and distribution projects. You will support the project management team through the full project life cycle, from initial identification and engineering to construction planning and final closeout. This is a full-time, paid summer 2026 position based on-site in Louisville, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Assist Project Managers with maintaining project schedules, managing financials, and facilitating team communications.
- Review financial data to verify the accuracy of estimates and cash flow inputs.
- Analyze key metrics for project and portfolio health, including Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI, and SPI.
- Evaluate field communications to determine their impact on project schedules and committed costs.
- Support project documentation efforts, including drafting meeting minutes, tracking requirements, and organizing project records.
- Observe safety meetings and job briefings.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Experience with project scheduling software, such as Primavera P6.
- Familiarity with financial management tools like PowerPlan.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
