About the role#
The Communications Intern will support strategic initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, share organizational stories, and connect internal and external audiences. This position provides hands-on experience in content development, social media management, and internal communications. You will work up to 29 hours per week in a hybrid environment, contributing to meaningful projects while developing professional skills in corporate communications and digital strategy.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and execution of internal and external communications initiatives.
- Conduct interviews with employees, leaders, and community partners to gather information for stories.
- Write and edit articles, feature stories, blogs, newsletters, and social media content.
- Manage social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
- Assist with communications for employee events, community engagement activities, and special projects.
- Utilize communications software to create, schedule, and distribute digital content.
- Support the measurement and reporting of communication initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Health, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Completion of two or more courses in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- One year of general work, volunteer, student organization, or internship experience is preferred.

- Location: Fort Collins, Colorado.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 2026 through June 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour.
- Status: Paid, part-time, non-exempt.
