The Nebraska Electoral Intern will support the Public Affairs team in executing grassroots organizing and electoral field plans. This role focuses on building and activating a network of supporters to advance electoral goals and support candidates endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Nebraska. This is a part-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term, concluding in November 2026.
What you'll do#
- Execute electoral and grassroots organizing field plans for assigned regions and districts.
- Engage in direct voter contact methods, including phone banking, text banking, canvassing, and postcard-writing.
- Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers to participate in supporter and voter contact activities.
- Ensure all data and reporting requirements are met accurately.
- Participate in outreach activities to support endorsed candidates.
What you'll need#
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in electoral organizing.
- Demonstrated skills in phone banking and canvassing.
- Ability to engage and train volunteers effectively.
- Familiarity with data management and reporting requirements.
- Academic background in fields such as Political Science, Public Health, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Marketing is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site in Omaha, Nebraska, with required travel to local events and occasional travel to Lincoln, Nebraska.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week. Hours are variable based on scheduled events, with some evening and weekend work required.
- Compensation: $17 per hour.
