The Policy Analyst Co-op student will support the development, dissemination, and evaluation of knowledge translation and mobilization initiatives. This role focuses on research, communications, and public engagement, with a goal of translating complex information into accessible content for diverse audiences. You will report to the Policy Manager and work within an inclusive team environment.
What you'll do#
- Develop translation materials, including reports, briefing notes, policy briefs, infographics, presentations, fact sheets, and digital content.
- Disseminate research findings through webinars, newsletters, social media, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and engagement activities with researchers, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and background research.
- Track project timelines, deliverables, and evaluation metrics.
- Support content development for websites and communication campaigns while ensuring materials are audience-focused and accessible.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Health Science, Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Knowledge Translation, Indigenous Studies, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and accessible language.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or virtual engagement platforms is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
- Term: Summer 2026 (12 weeks).
- Start Date: June 22.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Employment Type: Full-time (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
