Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada is seeking a Communications Coordinator Co-op student for a 12-week summer term. This role supports the development and execution of communications strategies that advance the organization's mission regarding health, abuse prevention, and the socio-economic development of Inuit women across Canada. You will gain practical experience in strategic planning, content creation, and media relations while working in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Draft plain language messaging and content tailored for diverse audiences.
- Create and manage content for corporate webpages and social media platforms.
- Coordinate communications campaigns to increase awareness of organizational projects and resources.
- Receive, manage, and respond to media and communications inquiries.
- Develop internal communications plans to facilitate information sharing across the organization.
- Collaborate with external firms to improve communications products and web presence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Health, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear materials.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, and Canva.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and media monitoring analytics is preferred.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Summer 2026 (12 weeks).
- Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Compensation: $20/hr.
