    About the role#

    Pauktuutit Inuit Women of Canada is seeking a Communications Coordinator Co-op student for a 12-week summer term. This role supports the development and execution of communications strategies that advance the organization's mission regarding health, abuse prevention, and the socio-economic development of Inuit women across Canada. You will gain practical experience in strategic planning, content creation, and media relations while working in a collaborative environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Draft plain language messaging and content tailored for diverse audiences.
    • Create and manage content for corporate webpages and social media platforms.
    • Coordinate communications campaigns to increase awareness of organizational projects and resources.
    • Receive, manage, and respond to media and communications inquiries.
    • Develop internal communications plans to facilitate information sharing across the organization.
    • Collaborate with external firms to improve communications products and web presence.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Health, Business Administration, or Marketing.
    • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear materials.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, and Canva.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and media monitoring analytics is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid.
    • Term: Summer 2026 (12 weeks).
    • Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • Compensation: $20/hr.
