The Testing & Development Rotational Intern will work with a team of design engineers, test engineers, and technicians to support projects across the automotive, defense, motorsports, aerospace, and marine industries. This role involves applying engineering knowledge to real-world design, testing, analysis, and development problems, including virtual prototype development, component and system validation, and laboratory testing.
What you'll do#
- Support the execution of laboratory and in-field testing projects, including work at proving grounds, wind tunnels, and racetracks, alongside senior engineers and technicians.
- Utilize CAD software (NX, Creo, Catia, or SolidWorks) and PLM tools (Windchill, Teamcenter) to assist with test fixture design, drawing development, and manufacturing release processes.
- Perform tasks within a matrix organization, maintaining a service-oriented mindset and professional communication standards.
- Manage multiple tasks and organizational responsibilities while working safely to meet all business expectations.
- Collect and analyze test data to produce technical reports and presentations under the guidance of senior staff.
- Engage in hands-on activities, including fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly, as well as vehicle logistics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proficiency with Windows-based computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage a personal workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use common hand tools.
- Preferred: Participation in SAE International collegiate design competitions (such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or First Robotics).

- Terms: Winter 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Note: This position requires the ability to perform moderate physical activity and may involve periodic travel.
