OSC Global is seeking a Cyber Security Intern to join the team supporting the Department of Energy Hanford Site. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in a federal environment, focusing on vulnerability management, security operations, governance, and compliance. This is a full-time role (30–40 hours per week) expected to continue through the duration of your academic program.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the execution of vulnerability scans across systems and networks.
- Track and report vulnerability findings and remediation status.
- Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security advisories.
- Participate in security compliance assessments and audits, including documentation and evidence gathering.
- Assist in the development and update of cybersecurity awareness training materials.
- Monitor and analyze security events and alerts under supervision.
- Contribute to the documentation of cybersecurity procedures and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including common vulnerability types.
- Familiarity with computer networking fundamentals and operating systems (Windows and/or Linux).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- US citizenship and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
