Cyber Security Intern (GRC)

About the role#

OSC Global is seeking a Cyber Security Intern to join the team supporting the Department of Energy Hanford Site. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in a federal environment, focusing on vulnerability management, security operations, governance, and compliance. This is a full-time role (30–40 hours per week) expected to continue through the duration of your academic program.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the execution of vulnerability scans across systems and networks.
• Track and report vulnerability findings and remediation status.
• Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security advisories.
• Participate in security compliance assessments and audits, including documentation and evidence gathering.
• Assist in the development and update of cybersecurity awareness training materials.
• Monitor and analyze security events and alerts under supervision.
• Contribute to the documentation of cybersecurity procedures and standards.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including common vulnerability types.
• Familiarity with computer networking fundamentals and operating systems (Windows and/or Linux).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• US citizenship and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
