This entry-level internship provides hands-on experience in a critical federal environment. You will rotate through various cybersecurity disciplines, including vulnerability management, security operations, and governance and compliance. This role is designed for students seeking to develop foundational skills while contributing to the protection of national assets and sensitive data.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the execution of vulnerability scans across systems and networks and support the prioritization of remediation efforts.
- Track and report vulnerability findings and remediation status using enterprise platforms.
- Research new and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security advisories.
- Monitor and analyze security events and alerts within the Security Operations Center (SOC) under senior supervision.
- Participate in security compliance assessments and audits, including documentation and evidence gathering.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- A demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn and grow within the field.
- US citizenship is required.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and a drug screening, including testing for cannabis.
- Possession of identification compliant with the Real ID Act at the time of hire.

- Location: Anchorage, Alaska (Remote work modality).
- Employment Type: Full-time (30–40 hours per week).
- Term: Rolling basis.
- Compensation: $21.00–$32.50 per hour.
