As an Electrical Device Characterization Intern, you will join the team in San Jose to support next-generation technology and product development. This role involves characterizing semiconductor devices using both fully automated and semi-automated test equipment. You will contribute to daily measurement tasks while also working on long-term projects aimed at improving lab operations and increasing testing efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Perform wafer-level measurements on test structures using semiconductor parameter analyzers.
- Write and execute test programs on Keysight/Agilent automatic parametric test systems using Rocky Mountain Basic or C.
- Test ESD (electrostatic discharge) devices using TLP (transmission line pulse) testers.
- Conduct noise measurements using a flicker noise system.
- Develop scripts to summarize large datasets and enable automation to support test engineering resources.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of basic semiconductor device and circuit operation.
- Experience with lab equipment including IV meters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.
- Proficiency in programming test applications using Python, Visual Basic, C, or LabView.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with semiconductor measurement equipment such as parametric analyzers, CV meters, and source measurement units.
