About the role#
We are looking for students to join the Onex Canada Asset Management and Onex Credit teams as an Equity Research Co-op. You will work alongside senior investment professionals and take on increasing responsibilities within the investment decision process.
What you'll do#
- Conduct fundamental analysis on public equities by assessing business models, industry positioning, and financial metrics.
- Synthesize and present investment ideas to Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
- Attend meetings with executive management teams and sell-side analysts during due diligence.
- Listen to earnings calls and monitor news related to your coverage universe.
- Build relative and intrinsic value models to support the investment process.
What you'll need#
- Passion for public markets investing through personal investing, extra-curriculars, or past work.
- Experience in equity research, investment banking, consulting, or private equity.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg.
- Financial modelling experience or a strong understanding of accounting concepts.
- Great attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate with investment professionals and build relationships across teams.
- Current enrollment in a program such as Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or Mathematics.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- The position is on-site and full-time.
- The expected wage is C$1,200 per week.
