About the role#
This is a 12-month paid internship position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside engineers to gain hands-on experience in optical module testing, characterization, and test automation for next-generation PON products.
What you'll do#
- Perform characterization testing and analysis of optical PON modules.
- Assist optical designers and development engineers with testing pluggable optical modules and analyzing test results.
- Operate optical test equipment.
- Automate test setups.
- Conduct post-processing and analysis of test results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's or bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited school in Canada.
- Experience using electronic and optical test equipment, such as BERT, OSA, DCA, Network Analyzers, or high-speed scopes.
- Familiarity with programmatic design principles and experience programming in MATLAB, Python, or C.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
