General Claims Associate, Part-Time Student Worker

About the role#

This is a part-time, year-round position within the First Notice of Loss (FNOL) department. You will serve as the primary point of contact for policyholders and claimants, managing the initial reporting process for Auto, Property, and Commercial claims. This role is designed to accommodate academic schedules, with an expected 15-20 hours of work per week between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays.

What you'll do#

• Receive and document initial reports of loss or damage from policyholders and other parties.
• Enter information accurately into company systems for adjuster assignment.
• Address customer inquiries regarding claims procedures and provide clear guidance on next steps.
• Determine appropriate coverage and conduct necessary follow-ups.
• Navigate internal systems to retrieve information and assist callers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and demonstrate empathy.
• Proficiency in navigating multiple software programs simultaneously.
• Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills.
• A High School Diploma or GED.

Location & details#

• Location: West Trenton, New Jersey (On-site).
• Schedule: Part-time, 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Compensation: $21 - $22 per hour.
