The Special Events Intern will support the development department at the New York City Ballet. This role provides hands-on experience in event production, fundraising, patron relations, database management, and arts administration. You will work under the guidance of the Coordinator, Special Events, to assist with the daily operations of the department.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and assist the team with patron correspondence, including fielding questions and accepting donations.
- Manage donor data, including maintaining donor profiles and historical event information.
- Draft and proofread copy for printed materials, website content, email solicitations, and newsletters.
- Prepare letters, invitations, and mailings for benefit events.
- Provide on-site support at benefit and cultivation events.
- Conduct donor research for gala dinner seating and assist with the Playbill listings process.
- Organize event materials, supplies, and track in-kind support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program, or graduation within the past 12 months.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is considered a plus.
- Availability to work some nights and weekends as required by event schedules.
- Fields of study such as Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Art, Media Studies, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science are relevant to this role.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York (David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center).
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring both remote and on-site work.
- Commitment: 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: $19.00 per hour.
- Status: Paid internship.
