About the role#
This internship provides exposure to the philanthropic and non-profit sectors within the Institutional Advancement Department. Interns participate in projects across operations, finance, events, corporate alliance, and annual fund teams to develop professional skills relevant to these fields.
What you'll do#
- Perform database updates through daily data entry and direct mail operations.
- Provide administrative support for mailings and invitations.
- Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgement letters.
- Review gift import images to process donor opt-out requests.
- Assist finance staff with financial documents, including deposit and donor backup.
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, including confirming logistics with vendors and businesses.
- Assist event staff with marketing materials and prepare meeting agendas, handouts, and presentations.
- Coordinate stewardship activities such as sending gifts to donors for birthdays or holidays.
- Perform background research on companies and individuals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor's degree program.
- Educational concentration in Communications, Marketing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Strong GPA and academic background.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to maintain discretion and respect for confidentiality.
- Previous internship or special events experience is a strong plus.
- General computer or database knowledge is preferred.
