About the role#
The NIL Marketing Intern supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships and marketing initiatives. This role provides exposure to marketing strategy, partnership marketing, and content creation. Interns gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment while developing career readiness competencies such as critical thinking, communication, and project management. This is a paid, part-time position for the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate activities supporting NIL partnerships, including project timelines, deliverables, and communications.
- Assist with planning and executing marketing campaigns featuring student-athletes and NIL initiatives.
- Develop and organize content for digital, social media, and promotional channels.
- Monitor project progress and update stakeholders on campaign milestones.
- Support athlete activations, community events, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments on integrated marketing and communication efforts.
- Research marketing trends and collegiate athletics developments to inform campaign recommendations.
- Review materials to ensure brand consistency and quality standards.
- Maintain records, assets, and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma required.
- Actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Sports Management, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of current marketing methodology and practices.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.
- Preferred: Familiarity with content creation or design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to attend occasional evening or weekend events.
Location & details#
- Location: East Lansing, Michigan.
- Modality: Hybrid, involving a combination of remote work and onsite presence at the MSUFCU Headquarters campus.
- Schedule: Part-time, 15-25 hours per week during business hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday).
